Cut the Cheese | Carly and Darren's Kick Ass Somerset Wedding at St Audries Park
Carly and Darren’s wedding in the Victorian Orangery at St Audries Park in Somerset was absolutely stunning. I had been looking forward to this wedding for months and was totally excited to be photographing and filming their day in this gorgeous venue!
The day started with checking in on Carly and the girls upstairs where hair and make-up was being done and he guys were hanging out downstairs in the lounge area. Carly was surrounded with so much love from her family and friends, many hands helped to get her ready and dressed with her Mum adding those all important final touches. Then once ready everyone gasped at how radiant she looked! Trying not to spill any of her dutch courage down her dress Carly and her proud father had a good old swig of Jack Daniels before making their way down to the ceremony.
The guys! Well, I had a great time with Darren and his groomsmen I took photos of them in and around the gardens. These guys supported Darren in the best way they could … with laughter … which made my job so much easier.
The Victorian Orangery was the picture perfect setting for the ceremony. A dream venue for any bride to be, so bright, airy and full of natural light. Small bay trees dressed with fairy lights and hurricane candles lined the golden aisle waiting to embrace Carly and Darren. The ceremony was beautiful, so full of heartfelt meaning and to top it off the newly weds decided to dance their way back down the aisle. Bloody brilliant!
We were outstandingly lucky with the weather, blue skies and wall to wall sunshine meant that all the family and wedding party photos were taken outside. For the intimate bride and groom shots I whisked Carly and Darren off for a little walk around the grounds. Being very conscience of not keeping them away from their guests for very long, it is their wedding day after all. We headed across the field and round by the lake to get some awesome couple shots. I find that having this time away from the wedding party gives them space to breathe and a few minutes to themselves to take in the day so far, as husband and wife.
With everyone back at the reception the party was getting started guests mingling, drinks flowing, lots of laughter and a cheeky lick of the cake knife because when you have a cheese-wedding cake, it’s rude not too! The evening got into swing and the dance floor was jumping throughout the evening with everyone having the best time.
Carly and Darren it was an absolute pleasure to be a part of your amazing wedding day. I hope your new adventure together gets better each and every day with many years of love and happiness!
